Fun Fair & BBQ Coordinator(s)

The role of the Fun Fair & BBQ Coordinator(s) is to support the Parents' Association campus activities by planning and executing the annual event in June.  

Key Duties:

  • Familiarize yourself with the budget for the event from the Treasurer. 
  • Recruit and coordinate a committee of volunteers to plan and execute as aspects of the event. 
  • Develop a project plan of activities/communications and update the PA at the PAW meetings.  
  • Develop a schedule for committee meetings, and invite the Campus Coordinator to each meeting, so a Campus Representative may be in attendance. 
  • Maintain accurate reporting of expenditures and manage expenses to the budget.

Other PA Duties:

  • As a member of the PA, act as an ambassador and resource for parents and administration to encourage an inclusive and cooperative TFS community. 
  • Attend all PAW meetings, participate in discussions and support as required.
  • Remain in good standing on the PA and maintain strict adherence to the TFS Code of Conduct and PA Constitution. 

Key skills/abilities/experience:

  • Prior experience with the PA is an asset. 
  • Project management skills, and ability to manage, people, time, budget and quality execution of the event. 
  • Good communication skills


  • The post is for one year and can be renewed for up to four consecutive years.
  • The time commitment required is on average 4-6 hours a month which includes, preparation of work and attendance at various meetings. The role is cyclical in nature; some months may be busier than others based on the time of year.
