Birthday Book Club (BBC) Coordinator 

The role of the BBC Coordinator is to support TFS as a parent volunteer in the process of the program as described in the Parents Handbook recognizes enrolled students birthdays while raising funds to help to enrich the library for all TFS students.  

Key Duties:

  • Develop enrolment information for August newsletter to all PA members at West Campus, complete with cost and deadlines in coordination with the West Campus Librarian. 
  • Modify and update BBC content on the TFS website.
  • Coordinate with the Campus Representative team on enrolment and data to execute the program, and ensure the Treasurer submits the billing to the students accounts. 
  • Report updates at the PAW.
  • Address questions and/or concerns from parents.
  • Work with the Librarian to recognize the students enrolled in the program, by way of photos, emails or use of bulletin board,  or website.
  • Ensure the Librarian spends the entire amount raised in the school year, but no more than, and the invoice(s) are copied to the Treasurer with the proper TFS account coding. 
  • Enhance or change program to encourage incremental participation from year to year.

Other PA Duties:

  • As a member of the PA, act as an ambassador and resource for parents and administration to encourage an inclusive and cooperative TFS community.
  • Attend all PAW meetings; participate in discussions and vote as required. 
  • Remain in good standing on the PA and maintain strict adherence to the TFS Code of Conduct and PA Constitution.

Key skills/abilities/experience:

  • Good organizational skills and be comfortable using google, spreadsheets and labels.
  • Must have solid communication skills, and ability to pursue a confidential and diplomatic approach with all TFS stakeholders.


  • The post is for one year and can be renewed for up to four consecutive years.
  • The time commitment required is on average 2 hours each month for the PAC meeting, in addition to 2 - 4 hours at the beginning of the school year for coordination and developing reports.
